From the earth to the atelier, each creation carries the spirit of a place, the depth of culture, and the quiet strength of those who shape it.

Beyond Jewellery
After spending two decades exploring remote parts of Africa, establishing mining operations and relationships that gave direct and traceable access to rare gemstones, Iver Rosenkrantz and his wife Jhaleh founded Rosenkrantz.
The amalgamation of restrained Danish design and the vibrant, resonant beauty of Africa inform all our designs from the first stone to the finished piece.

The House of Rosenkrantz
Living and working at the source allows us to take responsibility for how gemstones are mined, handled, and brought into the world. Traceability is not a certification or statement for us, it is a direct result of knowing where a stone comes from and the people involved at every stage.
We work closely with artisanal miners, supporting practices that value skill, safety, and fair opportunity. Among these initiatives is our all-female mine, created to offer women direct access to work, income, and independence in an industry where they have continuously been excluded.
Every gemstone we use can be traced back to its origin. Not through paperwork alone, but through relationships and lived involvement. This transparency shapes our decisions and defines the standards we hold ourselves to.
Responsibility -like craftsmanship- is not an afterthought, it is ever present.

Zimbaqua: World’s first all-female Mine
Zimbaqua was established in 2018 as the world’s first all-female gemstone mine, initially with aquamarine in Karoi, Zimbabwe. The mining industry is traditionally conservative and male-dominated, with limited access for women. Zimbaqua proves that value can be created differently, using existing resources at the mining sites.
Mining at Zimbaqua is carried out by hand, using controlled methods that prioritise safety, responsibility and respect for the surrounding environment. The work requires precision, experience, and discipline.
By operating outside traditional mining hierarchies, Zimbaqua has created lasting economic independence for its miners and their families. What began as a social initiative has become a sustainable and successful operation, demonstrating that ethical sourcing and exceptional beauty can exist together.
